Take your weaving skills to the next level with this workshop, where Siobhan Kelleher from Boston Wool Works will guide you through making a set of four coordinated hand towels while learning techniques such as calculating yarn required for a project, multiple color warps and wefts, hem stitching, waffle weave, and wet finishing/washing. Because of the techniques we’re using, you will literally walk away with four completed towels that just need to be washed! In addition, you will learn to make color and design decisions and apply your skills to a final “weaver’s choice” towel where you choose your favorite techniques to make a unique towel.
You can use your own rigid heddle loom or borrow one from the shop. If you bring your own loom (should be at least 10” wide), please be sure to bring an 8-dent reed, threading hook, clamps, warping peg, and two shuttles. $120 plus cost of yarn.
Pre-requesite: Intro to Traditional Weaving workshop or equivalent experience (to be confirmed by the instructor).
