Welcome to the NEW Cardigan Knitting Class over 7 sessions. This class runs Sunday, April 19- Sunday, May 31 from 2-4pm. The Cardigan Class is $50 plus materials. Together we will work on our own top-down cardigan, Petit Knit Novice in Chunky or Mohair. Purchase your pattern from Ravelry or when at the Stitch House

Week 1 (April 19) we will start with yarn selections and gauge swatch exercise. It is especially important to do a gauge swatch to ensure we are “rowing out” and if we’re substituting yarns, that it works for these patterns. 
 
Participants are expected to be comfortable with the knit and purl stitches. Skills developed during this class will be increasing/decreasing, working flat on a top-down pattern, buttonholes + button band and basic sweater construction techniques. Both sweaters require buttons.
 
Chunky Materials Needed: 
US 10 and US 10.75 (ok to use 10.5) circulars, stitch markers
Approximately 1100 yards (depending on size selected) of a light worsted or DK plus an optional mohair to carry along. Go worsted if not carrying along a mohair. I will be using Cotton-Merino by Katia solo. You can explore Malabrigo Rios, Plymouth Sea Isle, Blue Sky Woolstok and Ultra Wool. 
 
Mohair Materials Needed:
US 6 and US 6 circulars, stitch markers
Approximately 2000 yards (depending on size selected) of a mohair that will be held doubled. We have several mohair options that could work. There are some options that could be held single. You could also explore Malabrigo Arroyo, Patagonia Organic Wool and Fibre Co Cirro.
