Saturday, August 6 from 10a-12:30p OR

Thursday, August 18 from 6-8:30p

GTK is a 2.5 hour class to familiarize yourself with how sewing machines work: turning it on, threading the machine and bobbin, learning the basic stitches and functions and how to care for it. In the process we will make one standard size pillowcase! Please bring one yard of cotton fabric – or stop by the shop to pick up a yard of 100% cotton fabric from our fabulous selection of great prints! We will provide thread.

If you're bringing your own machine, please bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). Or feel free to use one of our machines.

Everything You Need to Know About Zippers - $35

Saturday, July 23 from 10 - 12:30p

We need zippers to keep our clothes on and stuff from falling out of our bags. How do we set them into our sewing projects? What do we do when zippers stick or break? There are metal, plastic, and polyester zippers; why do we need to know the difference? In this class we will learn about zippers and practice inserting one into a pouch that we will make together in class.

Cost of class does not include price of materials to make a zippered pouch.

Railroad Quilt-As-You-Go Wallhanging

Session 1:               Friday, June 10, 5-8 pm

Open Studio:        Sunday, June 12, 12-3pm

Session 2:               Friday, June 17, 5-8pm

This workshop includes fabric, pattern and guided instruction and additional Open Studio Time. The Stitch House Quilt Club is designed for new, beginner and advanced sewers looking for good company, conversation and guidance to complete a stunning quilt. This is a casual workshop and members receive assistance while at Stitch House. You are expected to have a basic understanding of the sewing machine, can straight stitch and be fearless of making “mistakes”. My philosophy is your sewing & quilting should be as perfect as you want it, but you should enjoy your craft. I attempt to create an atmosphere of relaxation and fun. There is no grade for your finished project. Open studio time is for you to continue working, unguided, on your project at the Stitch House.

Hummingbird Paper Pieced Wall Quilt is a new pattern for us and a refresher technique for Annissa. It’s quick workshop – that’s why I’m calling it a “Quit Club Quickie” and. Finished size is approximately 24”X24”.  Fabric value is about $60. All materials included in this project. You are welcome to bring your own machine.

Club limited to 6 participants. Register early. $200
