SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS 4-6pm and TUESDAYS 6-8pm
First Sweater Series! Start anytime - we're here to support you until you're done!
You want to knit a sweater – I know you do... Here’s your chance. Join Annissa for these Sunday late- afternoon knit sessions to get that done. This knit-together is designed for those ready to take a leap, even if you think you can’t. You should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches; we’ll cover knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, picking up stitches, and basic sweater construction concepts. I promise you will LOVE it! When we work together and support each other we can get your first sweater done – and maybe more sweaters!
First Sweater Series costs $50 plus cost of yarn and other supplies. I have reduced the class fee because you are asked to purchase a sweater’s worth of yarn from the Stitch House.
Materials Required:
We will all work on the same FIRST sweater: Southwood from Galt House of Yarn. This is a free pattern on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/southwood-2. Feel free to download and print a copy for yourself, but DO NOT read and get overwhelmed. It's an EASY pattern, I promise!
We will make a swatch prior to starting our sweater knitting (swatching is important!). The pattern calls for a US 8 needle for the body. If you're a tight knitter, also bring a US 9 for swatching; if you're a loose knitter, bring a US 7 needle. You will also need a needle for the ribbing that's 2 sizes smaller than your main needle. The last things you'll need are stitch markers and a sense of humor.
Yarn suggestions:
- Berroco Ultra Wool
- Malabrigo Rios
- Plymouth Galway Worsted
