Selecting Fabric for your quilt:
Take time and have fun selecting your fabrics. As you go through this process, you will find yourself putting prints back, picking new ones. It’s ok. Trust your intuition and take a risk – it’s just a quilt and you can make another one any time! I do suggest you wait and select your binding and backing later. As you work with your fabrics, you tend to develop preferences. When we get to this point, you’ll want to know what print you really like (sometimes it surprises you!).
I am so excited to quilt with you! Quilting is a wonderful craft, that is forgiving to flaws… like we should be in life. I hope you will join me for this series. It will be hands on and fun. And you will never want to stop quilting – and will look to share them as gifts with all your friends and families. The quilt we make together can be to keep or give. Try to join me for help selecting your fabric, but don’t worry if you can’t. Anyone at the Stitch House will enjoy holding your hand and encourage you to try something new for color and contrast with this project. If you can, I suggest you wash and dry your fabric prior to our first session.
